OpenGenesisLINK Generation 1: now on .NET 10

Merged into main on 4 November 2026. PR #378, commit 7d6dd4d40b27173aa8683256046d62445348a66e. The current development platform targets net10.0 for ROBUST, simulator, frameworks, addons and build tooling.

What changed?

  • global.json: .NET 10 SDK 10.0.100 or compatible feature update.
  • Projects: required C# targets use net10.0.
  • Prebuild: supported Linux/Windows scripts retarget generated projects after the legacy generator.
  • Runtime: simulator and ROBUST runtimeconfig files require Microsoft.NETCore.App 10.x.
  • CI: full builds and isolated ROBUST startup smoke for Linux x64, ARM64 and Windows x64.
  • Release: automated publication remains frozen pending explicit operator acceptance.

Verified local workflow

git clone --branch main https://github.com/opengenesislink/opengenesislinkserver.git
cd opengenesislinkserver
bash runprebuild.sh
python3 tools/gen11/verify_net10.py
python3 tools/ci/verify_gen1_main_net10_scope.py
dotnet restore OpenSim.sln
dotnet build OpenSim.sln --configuration Release --no-restore
python3 tools/gen11/robust_runtime_smoke.py

Published stable vs current development

Published stable v0.9.3.13 predates the migration and targets net8.0. Current Generation 1 main targets net10.0. No later .NET 10 stable release is verified; the automatic stable source download still returns the older stable tree.

Production gates

CI and isolated ROBUST HTTP startup tests do not establish production readiness. MariaDB, FSAssets/WebDAV, inventory, archives, viewer logins, teleports, Hypergrid, LSL/OSSL, physics, addons and rollback require independent staging acceptance. The separate proposed image codec engine is not part of this merge.
